Katja Jannsen, Potsdam

This Month is Family Portrait Month!

Time is flying by! Your children are growing up, getting bigger, and learning more and more. They are discovering and experiencing every day the many new things that this wonderful world has to offer. I can still remember the first time I rode a bike without training wheels.

Vielen vielen Dank für diese wunderschönen Bilder. Ich bin sicher, meine Oma wird sich sehr freuen! Kristin Riebe, Potsdam

Where I’m from, kids learn to ride bikes a bit later than they do here in Germany. When you get your first bike, it comes with two extra small wheels which keep you from falling over, because you haven’t learned how to balance yet. At some point you take one of the wheels off. It’s a bit more difficult this way. I rode this way for a while. For some reason one day, I decided that this was the time and that I could now ride without the training wheels. I remember telling my mom, and I remember that she wanted me to wait until my dad got home from work so he could see this important moment in my life! But I had to do it now! My mom took off the last training wheel and away I rode, down the sidewalk a few houses, and unbelievably I managed to turn around without falling and rode all the way back. It was amazing. I just decided that I could do it, and I did it!

And to now look back on the rest of my life, all of the great experiences I’ve had mountain biking and bike touring, on vacations and racing as well, it really was a huge moment in my life. My mom snapped a picture of me that day, just before I was off. It’s in one of our family photo albums at home, and it makes me so happy to see this picture when we go through our old family albums.

Wir haben vor kurzem bei Robert unsere ersten richtigen familienfotos machen lassen. ich muss sagen, wir sind begeistert! Yvonne Lercher, Hamburg

Don’t let these moments slip by! Kids grow up so fast. There are important things happening in their lives every day, just like me riding my bike for the first time, and it’s worth to take the time to create something really special, to remember these times, that will be passed down from you, to your children, and then to their children. I’ve decided to make this month Family Portrait Month, and I really encourage you to take advantage of it before it’s too late, and another year has gone by.

This time of year is a really great time to have professional portraits taken of your children and family. The weather is still warm and there are plenty of sunny days that we can take advantage of. The leaves on the trees are changing color and this makes for a really beautiful setting to capture the love and emotion that your family feels for each other. But the wonderful color doesn’t last long, so contact me today to reserve your appointment. For a limited time, for one month, I’m offering 50% off of the creation fee, so call me today!

One really special thing about me is my guarantee. I guarantee that you will be THRILLED with your portraits. If you’re not thrilled I’ll do whatever it takes to make you thrilled, including creating additional images, at no extra cost to you. If you still aren’t thrilled, I’ll refund all of your money, no hard feelings.

Why do I offer this guarantee? Because I think it’s important to stand behind my work. You are very important to me. I hope that the first time we create something special together will not be the last, and I strive to provide you not only with wonderful images, but a wonderful experience, both before, during, and after our appointment. I follow up with my clients, after their portraits are displayed on their walls, and I ask them, as I will ask you, to be sure that I didn’t miss anything, or if there isn’t something else that I can still do for them. If there is, I promise you that I will take care it’s done!

Nadia Draganova, Potsdam

La-Bouteille - Bio Weine - Babelsberg

Earlier this summer I met Derk Franke, who is the owner of La-Bouteille - Bio Weine, which happens to be just down the street from me! Derk needed to update his website with some new pictures. So here we go with a nice portrait of Derk in Park Babelsberg…

Derk has a nice selection of wine, all of it is organic, and much of the selection can only be found in his store. One cool thing is that you can order wine on-line, and he will deliver it to you on his bike!

And last up we have a nice shot of Derk at work.

La-Bouteille - Bio Weine is open daily from 13:00-20:00 and on Saturday from 10:00-20:00.

Photography from Animal Shelter Verlorenwasser

Last week I visited the Animal Shelter Verlorenwasser near Belzig to photograph some of the dogs they have there, in hopes that maybe I could help to find permanent homes for some of them. I love dogs and grew up with one myself! First off we have a cute little puppy!

He is one of seven puppies new at the shelter. They are so nice and I think they would be great for a family with kids. Here is Sarah:

Sarah is a beautiful dog with lots of energy! More pictures of Sarah can be found here. And here is Jimbo:

More of Jimbo can be found here as well.. We wanted to try and do an image to promote the shelter which would be distributed to local veterinary offices. This isn’t the image, but probably Jimbo will be a star!

Here is Lucky… Lucky can also be seen here

Lucky had a lot of personality, and seemed to be pretty skeptical of my camera. Next up, I think, is Coco. I don’t remember his name, but it’s the best match I can find browsing the website of the shelter.

Last up we have Shiva

and to end another really sweet puppy!

All of these cute little (and big!) guy are looking for homes! You can stop by on Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday to meet them in person, it takes around an hour by car from Potsdam. If you’d like to help but aren’t looking for a new family member, the shelter is always accepting donations

Yes! I’d like to meet Robert for coffee, especially since he’s buying!
